Can I Trust Minit Maids?

No need to worry. With Minit Maids, you are protected. Our employees are background-checked, bonded and insured. Our employees always arrive at your home in a Minit Maids uniform and marked car. We pay all federal, state, social security, payroll taxes.  You have no personal liability with our staff since all are insured with workmans compensation insurance.  Minit Maids NEVER uses independent subcontractors.

Do I Have To Be Home When Minit Maids Cleans?

90% of our customers are not able to be home when we arrive so many give us a key to be safely stored with our secure "double-blind" key management system.  Others prefer to leave a key in a pre-arranged location. If you must be home for us to gain entry we ask that you give us a wider window of arrival due to the nature of scheduling limitations - usually a 2 hour arrival window.

Can Minit Maids Guarantee Superior Customer Service?

The Minit Maids standard for customer service is what makes us stand apart from ordinary residential cleaning services. To guarantee each client's satisfaction with our house cleaning service, we maintain a deep commitment that is both a system and an ethic.

  • We WILL supervise our consistency

Do I Have To Provide Cleaning Supplies?

Minit Maids provides all the necessary cleaning solutions, sanitized supplies and state-of-the-art equipment. However, if you have a special product you prefer us to use when cleaning the house, such as a specific stone cleaner or polish, we'll be happy to use it.

Will I Get The Same Team Every Time?

If you are scheduled Weekly or Biweekly, Minit Maids schedules the same team to clean your home.  This way, the team gets to know your home and your needs. In the event of an employee illness or scheduled vacation, we will do our best to send at least one person to your home that is on your regular home cleaning team.

How Many People Will Be In My Home?

Minit Maids works in crews of two and sometimes three persons teams depending on small variations in the schedule for the day. From time to time you may also see our Quality and Training manager with the house cleaning team. Their job is to do spot and detailed inspections on several homes during the week to make sure that we are delivering the best quality cleaning to not only your standards but our standards too.  Also remember every job is supervised and inspected by our working crew leaders.  You will see their name on our Comment Card we leave after each cleaning

What If Something Gets Damaged Or Broken?

Accidents occasionally happen. Minit Maids is fully insured and will repair or replace anything that gets damaged or broken as a result of an accident caused by one of our staff. It is our company policy that our teams report any incident that occurs. Honesty is always the best policy. You will not have to find something broken a week or a month later and wonder who did it. NOTE:  If you do have something of extreme value or something of sentimental value, we ask that you inform us in advance so that we can show a high level of caution

How Do I Pay?

If you cannot be there to pay the team when we finish, it is required that you leave a check in the kitchen made out to  "Minit Maids" on the day of your cleaning.  We also accept most major credit cards. Checks are the preferred form of payment.

General Cleaning Tips

Below are some household cleaning tips from our professionals to get the most out of your next house cleaning:

Soap film build-ups in your shower/tub enclosure are caused by the caking agents in our cake soaps, the minerals in your water and body oils.  This triple combination is what adhers to your tiles.  Certain "un-named" soaps are worse than others.  To avoid this you can switch to liquid " gel" soaps.  Not only do they keep your shower cleaner but they are better for your skin. ( Remember, the squeeky clean feel is not from clean skin but the residue from your soap)

Keep your general cleaning supplies close at hand, preferably in a tote to carry the supplies together. Keep bathroom cleaning supplies on a bathroom shelf, kitchen cleaning supplies in the kitchen cabinet, etc.

Use professional-quality cleaning products. The products are very efficient and work well on most surfaces. It is extremely important to read the label on the product to confirm the product is appropriate to use on a specific surface.

Use a routine to clean. Go from top to bottom in the room, and work your way to the right around the room. Start at the same place every time so you do not miss anything.

Kitchen Cleaning Tips

Chrome toaster ovens and glass looking dull.  Use Bon Ami or Comet with a wet wash cloth.  Make a pasty consistency and polish surface.  Rinse off with a clean cloth then buff & dry.  Voila!   Warning:  DO NOT USE ON STAINLESS STEEL APPLIANCES. - use stainless steel cleaners only

Water, mild detergent and a sponge is all you need to clean a microwave oven; avoid harsh or abrasive cleaning agents.

Unplug and pull the refrigerator/freezer at least once/year to clean underneath. Vacuum the front of the motor and coils to remove dust and dirt OR use a special pointed brush that cleans inbetween the coils. Your refrigerator will work more efficiencly and extend its life.

SINK DISPOSAL ODORS: place orange or grapefruit peels in disposal and run it until they disolve Let it sit until you use it again.

Bathroom Cleaning Tips

Glass shower doors dull:   Use a little Comet or Bon Ami.  Make a pasty consistency with a wash cloth, scrub, rinse and dry.  You will be amazed. Note:  Hardwater stains will still remain sorry to say.  In the Charlotte area, nothing removes hardwater stains( spots on glass)

Carpet Cleaning Tips

A small whisk broom will help you clean the carpet edges around the outside of each room and in corners.

Can't find the source of a pet odor on your carpet or furniture? Darken the room, and then aim a blacklight; the source of odors will glow.

If you spill either red or white wine on carpet, believe it or not, use salt! Pour salt over the spill. Allow the wine to soak into the salt and then vacuum up the salt. If the stain remains, mix 1/2 tsp of dishwashing soap with 8 oz of warm water. Apply a small amount, then blot and repeat until the stain is completely removed. Cover the stain with a towel and press down repeatedly to absorb the stain and the soap. Once the stain is completely removed, rinse the area with cold water. Blot with a dry terrycloth towel and repeat if necessary until all the moisture and residue is removed. If the spot or stain turns to a brown color when dry, mix 1 part white vinegar and two parts water. Apply a small amount and blot. Repeat only once.

Wood Floors

Always remember to use a very dry mop when you mop sealed hardwood floors. This prevents moisture from leaking between boards in the floor.( We prefer microfiber mop pad systems)  Use 1/4 cup of vinager in gallon of water or a neutral floor cleaner.(read instructions for dilution ratio)  For pre-finished (engineered) floors use only their product and of course it is always best to follow their instructions.

Resilent Floors

When mopping, use two mop buckets: one for the cleaning solution and one to rinse your mop. The dirt and sand from your mop will wash out and settle in the rinse bucket, keeping the cleaning solution cleaner longer. (Better yet find a microfiber mop system and use multiple mop pads - that is what we use.  If you would like to buy one please give us a call)

Upholstery Cleaning Tips

A lint remover with tape strips is a great way to remove loose hair, dirt and particles from the fabric on your sofa and chairs. It puts less pressure on the upholstery than a regular lint brush, pulling dirt away rather than pushing it into the fabric weave.

Windows & Mirrors

You need not clean your windows and mirrors more frequently than on a monthly basis. It is less work yet still prevents buildup from occurring.

Only use alcohol-based window cleaners to efficiently remove dirt and grease while minimizing smearing or streaking. Ammonia based cleaners can damage plexi-glass.

A squeegee method (found at your local hardware store) is the best way to clean windows and glass doors.  Learn how to use them and you will be forever streakless and smearless.  The dry newspaper method works good but it is messy. I bet you have never seen professional window cleaner using newspaper!
